The cost of waiting

Published: (9 days, 13 hours, 1 minute after creation)

You bargain with time as if it were your servant as if tomorrow were written into your contract with the world

you speak of the delay with unfounded calm confidence forgetting just how confident breath leaves chest.

What you call patience is merely fear dressed in polite trappings. What you call wisdom is merely avoidance.

The soul is not tarnished by great sins alone, but by many small postponements

Delay is not neutral, my friend. It always sides with decay, degradation, erosion of one's immortal soul.

Each subsequent delay dulls the mind and weakens the heart. The heart learns to embrace comfort over action, Deeming obedience unreasonable, excuses justified, and thus the man decays quietly.

Gradually without alarm.

You imagine there will be a cleaner hour to begin, a lighter burden, a clearer mind. This is the lie, the fallacy that flattens the lazy and consoles the proud. The work of conversion is never convenient. Opportunity knocks softly and does not return once ignored.

What is refused today rarely makes a reappearance tomorrow, much less with such fervor.

The man who waits to become disciplined has already chosen disorder therefore act whilst you are still able, repent when you are weak, and choose while you are still free from the shackles of complacency and sloth.
